She's a fairy because she's 1: a literal fucking fairy (the tiny magical female humanoid with an otherworldly aesthetic), 2: associated with the fae in pretty much fucking everything (behavior, demonization, color and design and location it's all there faggot), and 3: is so heavily tied to fairy tales that she's practically a personification of the word, a witch, princess, and the otherworldly all in one.
Not all Witches are from fairy tales, but Hatt is the representative of the ones that are as well as other fae things, such as the average Sprite. Mismagius and Delphox have nothing in common with Hatt outside of the former being a different kind of Witch and the latter being Psychic type (Delphox isn't even really a Witch, it's more of an Oracle, Wizard or Seer). I never claimed they were fairies, because they are not.
Fairy as a type can't really be removed from a lot of Gen 7+ Pokemon who have it because it's integral to what they are. The Tapus, Shiinotic, Hatterene and Grimmsnarl, Rimbombee, Mimikyu, a lot of them are very heavily fairy (as in the adverb, not just the strict definition of 'tiny magical girl', because you're a dense cunt).
