>>475366882011 /vp/ was easily the worst year I've ever seen of this board. 2010 /vp/ was like /b/ and /v/ but Pokémon. But I remember in late 2010 that /vp/ got posted around on FurAffinity or something and 2011 was just a bunch of unironic autism, furries, underage, and newfags coming in because BW were coming out in English. It turns out that a bit of cynicism adds self-awareness. Need I remind you of the constantly recurring role-playing threads (multiple generals in fact)? Of the legitimate dogfuckers? Of the sheer number of tripfags?
2010 /vp/ is still probably the most fun I've ever had on this board or even this website, so to go from that to the year after was pretty rough. I can't complain as much about younger people playing Pokémon and starting with newer games because at least a lot of them try out the older games, but it is kind of unfortunate that a lot of first-hand experience is just lost over time. Like there will be people who will never know that the Gen III anime (Advanced Generation) wasn't called Pokémon The Series: Ruby & Sapphire for like 15 years, but instead Pokémon Advance, Advanced Battle, Advanced Challenge, and Battle Frontier.
