Most PokeSpe teams aren't really meta (except maybe Emerald) but they rely on non mechanical stuff like sheer battling skill, creativity or knowledge/trust of their Pokémon to win

Sure. Snorlax is a beast, Aero is pretty good, Gyarados is good too (though it depends on the gen), Venu is the best Kanto starter. Poli is ok and Pikachu is there as the obligatory mascot.

I still mildly dislike Emerald for cucking Wally out of being a Dex holder and disown him. I'm not too attached to his character arc and don't hate it but man my man Wally deserved better. He had GREEN HAIR TOO.
