Thank fucking god they made all this easier for us poor autistic comp fags. I remember in gen 4 I was trying to breed for a croagunk that was adamant natured, dry skin as an ability, and decent IVs. I also preferably wanted a male. I remember slowly but surely losing my sanity as I bred about a box and a half of those fucking things before I finally got one. It was complete bullshit that breeding with an everstone at the time only had a *chance* to pass down the nature.

If gen 6-8 have done anything right it's the quality of life improvements. I can breed and fully EV train exactly what I want within an hour on Shield.

Wildly different game structure, there might not even be multiplayer at all if the website's anything to go by. Also, VGC never uses the game released the same year. VGC 2015 didn't use ORAS, VGC 2016 didn't use SM, and VGC 2017 didn't use USUM.

It's a bad thing because Pokemon with non-shallow movepools also get it and it makes the entire game an unpredictable mess. Also, some Pokemon are balanced by the fact that they have shallow movepools. Are you unironically trying to argue the game would be better if Regieleki could use HP Ice or Spectrier could use HP Fighting?

Hidden Power can simply not be available for certain Pokémon like the ones you mentioned.

I played gen 3 BF for a while and I unironically found it more fun than post-split. Post-split it feels too much like every Pokemon can do anything. In gen 3 it's much easier to counter Pokemon.
