>>47558760off the top of my head, the early new mons you come across, hoothoot, ledyba, ariados, jumpluff, togetic, natu, yanma, shuckle, all have completely ass stats and move pools (even including TMs for a large part) or they learn their most powerful move at lvl 60+ which is just in time for Red and too late for the entire game. i like some of these, natu, yanma, and shuckle especially but they're just awful in game.
i've tried diverse teams including some of the mons mentioned above, and they get completely ignored when it comes to gyms or especially the e4. they serve no purpose when it counts.
