>>47561565Masuda is out of touch and a lot of criticisms towards him are deserved. But on the other hand, he fucking made Pokemon after the Game Boy. RS, FRLG, DP, BW, and XY were all his doing. The last one is considerably more hated than the others, but consider that it didn't get a proper follow up like the others. Masuda is really good at laying down a solid foundation for a Pokemon game. Even LGPE for all its faults at least had more polish than say... SM or especially SWSH.
The worst of Pokemon's problems aren't completely on Masuda. If anything the games have gotten far worse now that he no longer directs mainline Pokemon.
