The last Megas in the TCG were in the XY Evolutions set, with MVenusaur, MCharizard, MBlastoise, MPidgeot, and MSlowbro. It was our Nov. 2016 set; Japan got it in Sept. 2016.

It has mega evolved twice. Once to lose to Ash, and again in a flashback to lose to Bea. Seems less like "mega evolution is back and powerful!" And more "these trainers are so strong mega evolution is pointless"

In Journeys Mega Lucario.
Something tells me that will there more megas in a future.
Why do I say it? Because in PoGo there a dex for the mega evos (why a dex?) and it wouldn't strage to think this since if they can debut new mons or forms in PoGo. A example Meltan and Melmetal

Or maybe the dex is jist there because Go was originally meant to be about collecting pokemon and the people who play it could use a way to keep track of megas? Thisisthe samegame that brought back shadow pokemon with absolutely no effect outside of itself, you shouldn't use it to draw conclusions on the franchise as a whole.
