He loses to you, Bede, even fucking Swordbert and Shieldbert. Every notable thing he's ever done was because of your direct involvement in carrying him there. Scaling Rose Tower, fighting Team Yell, challenging Eternatus, that was all you and he just hitched a ride like a parasite and contributed minimal (and against Eternamax the dogs do all the work for the both of you). Even getting his dog wasn't really something he did, as YOU were the one to defeat and calm it down, it's counterpart is the one who kept it from killing the nobility and it just runs off. Hop just gets handed it for free out of nothing but pity, loses to you again, then immediately shelves it to try and become an assistant only to once again completely suck at that (the dumbass thought Bears wanted Nectar and Apple Juice over Honey for god's sake) and flip-flop on his life's goals by constantly talking about becoming the Champ and his "Legend" in his rematches with you even though he supposedly gave all that up.
Hop can be called many, many negative things and all of them will be accurate, but one of the things that best describes him is a Tool who desperately tries to pretend he's not only for his actions to further cement him as a Tool.
