They're not being put in games aimed at kids. They're also not classed as gambling in most of EU. Banned in Belgium and Netherlands though, where they ARE classed as gambling (easy to spot the burger - the slots TAUGHT kids the mechanics of gambling which could be applied to real life, hence its ban.

The game corner is fine, but it forces them to bump the minimum age recommendation from 3 yo to 12 yo which they don't want to do (safe for virtual console releases who are basically only bought by old fans anyway)
Gachas aren't affected because they don't take the form of a real casino-like gambling game
That's why Masters is available for kids over 3, like other pokemon games
