Please state what exactly separates Galar Slowbro from Slowking mechanically. Why could Galar Slowbro not be Slowgun, or Slowking be Johtonian Slowbro?

Because regional forms weren't a concept when Slowing was released OP, are you retarded?
Also, original forms aren't [region]ian, they're just the original forms, its the regional form that is particular.

You've completely missed the point. There's no real rhyme or reason separating a regional form from being an entirely new Pokemon outside of "Because Gamefreak said so". It's a sloppy inconsistency that doesn't need to exist.

Regionals are actually amazing, they breathe new life into old favourites.
To answer your question is then all the other new regional variants would need to be cross gen evos too somehow

They could just focus on quality over quantity, make the good designs split evos. Why would that be so bad? Or, if they're really confident in a design like Sandshrew alola, just make it a new Pokemon and say it resembles sandshrew because it's a relative.
