Lets say they use UTF-8/UTF-16 encoding because they are lazy and not some binary file.
To future proof lets take what pokemon showdown uses to store your pokemons for an entire team (maybe some future move or pokemon or item will have some super long name).

We can estimate that 2KiB is the max for one pokemon.
Therefore 1 floppy disc can hold 500 Pokemon saved in this format !
in 1 MiB you can hold 500 pokemon ! 500 pokemon ! Think about this !
And steam and other services will give you 10 MiB of free space like its nothing !
10 MiB can hold 5000 pokemon !
