Anyone else hate the gen 4 powercreep and lore. Im glad they scaled it down with the gen 5 boxlegends just being ancient thematic philosophy dragons that are just kingdom busters.

it made sense to me, desu zekrom/reshiram feeling so limited compared to other box legends is what felt so strange to me.

also while Dialga/Palkia do have such crazy power that should really steamroll any opponent, they dont seem to really abuse it in the game’s story (cyrus just almost uses their power as a tool like other villains try to use box legends) or mechanics so it didn’t really feel like power creep to me

Are you sure the Gen that abused powercreep wasn't Gen 5 though? Very good pokemons like Swampert started getting outclassed during Gen 5.

Didn't Gen 4 also release a bunch of evolved forms of earlier Pokémon.
Regardless, BST is a horrible way to measure strengthen since stat spread and abilities matter much more.

Gen 4 had the most cross gen evos out of any gen, of course it's gonna have a pretty high average base stat. Gen 5 on the other end didn't have any cross gen evo as far as I'm aware

This would actually be pretty cool. I forget what gravity does in game though and not sure giratinas ability would benefit him too much but they should do something like this for the next game. Pressure is a lame cop out for most legends/pseudos

Gravity grounds anything flying and makes all moves nevermiss, so Palkia could learn a bunch of strong, inaccurate moves
Giratina alone might not benefit a whole lot from inverse matchups, but you could pull lots of weird shit in Ubers like Groudon switching in on Kyogre's Water Spout

I don't hate them, but I do see the problem here. They're suppose to be deities that created the universe and yet there's multiple versions of them, weaker than a legend with a mega stone and fusions, that they can just be caught in red chains instead of eliminating the fucker from creating them in the first place. At least, Arceus maintains it's rarity for now.

Notice how no other generations tried to make the lore bigger and better. After you establish a literal God, trying to make a God above God would be ridiculous.

All box legends since have just been powerful Pokemon within the context and history of their regions. As long as it stays that way from now on the lore aspect will be fine
