BW2 has a few pieces of it; Sabrina in Pokéstar Studios and Red in the Champions Tournament. Granted it's not full KANTOOO like in future games, but signs of the shift were definitely there.

Completely plausible that she's just saying it in past tense due to not being sure over time. I know that if I found something somewhere and someone asks where they could get one, I talk about it in past tense in case they no longer stock it; same idea. Misty could easily still be gym leader, but she doesn't know for sure so it's past tense

Unova imo. When I first got here it was more gen2 and gen5 bashing but the shitting on gen2 threads have slowed down and stopped from what I've seen. I don't get gen was either. Like there's stuff like both regions and mechanics to factor in if a gen is not to your liking.
