This. If any first Gen evolution family deserves some love, it’s Mankey and Primeape. So many people expecting big things from Primeape when Ash “goes back for him” when I was a kid. He could have been the OG Lucario. But I’m still holding out for my main man Mankey.

honestly just pick any kanto mon that has the same typing as a pokemon you could previously get in the game (specially fire/water/grass).

I want to see more golduck, dewongs, rapidash, tangela, primape, etc. etc.

giving an old mon a variant doesnt really fix the problem with old mons. I think giving Victrebel a few fire moves to abuse would set it apart from other grass/poison types with maybe fire lash or flamethrower. It could be worse.. you could be Carnivine

I would give Victribell (and Carnivine, by extention) an ability that traps + grants immunity to Bug and Flying-Type Pokemon/moves
