The campaign is dogshit and there's nothing to do in the postgame. You'll feel the joy of playing Pokemon for a little bit, then it wears off and you'll remember how shitty and low effort the game is.

Game runs mostly smoothly at 30fps, I can remember a couple frame drops happening but nothing massive, and most weren't even linked to anything happening.

GS, RS, DP, and BW all have way more to actually do in their respective postgames than SWSH. And that's not even going into Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, BW2, or any of the remakes.

It was fun until the horrible story suddenly kicked in near the end. Easily the worst story in the series. Worst soundtrack too, but the gameplay is about as fun as any Pokemon game, with more QoL and a wide variety of Pokemon available.

It not only had less than Kalos and Alola for sheer regional variety, but the base game has less total than fucking Diamond and Pearl. Even what there is is dogshit. Game badge gates wild area Pokemon so you can't benefit from its variety, and on top of that you have shit like the only dragon type you can even find before late game is by evolving Noibat.

It was an absolutely shit experience for Pokemon variety.

XY probably has more variety because it's basically designed like a rom hack, but I don't think SM does. I just played through it and saw the same common mons like Wingull and Rattata (and their evolutions) throughout the whole game. SwSh, like XY, has each route packed with new Pokemon that you will commonly see. And then there's the wild area with a shitload of Pokemon available very early on.

and STILL want to buy it then go ahead, but there's already a plethora of options. The video game market is saturated with tons of indie gems too. Pokemon has been bad for a while, lots of other games are more enjoyable and cheaper than them.

You can always come back and revise anything you don't like. I don't know much about worldbuilding but just like anything in-progress if you find yourself stumped it's best to move on. You might get an idea later on, but even if you don't there's nothing wrong with figuring it out later

You have to spend $90 to get the full experience since the majority of the postgame is in the DLC. You also need to pay for Nintendo online since the raid and dynamax adventures NPCs have bad AI and will likely hinder you.

The smaller screen on the Lite will likely makes things look crisper. However the lack of an ethernet port and it not being docked means you might experience some lag if online and some drops in frame rate particularly in the Wild Area. In general if you aren't trying to connect to online raids it's best for performance to stay offline in the Wild Area entirely.

It was such fun while the rest of the board was bitching and shit posting we were actually playing the game having a blast. Over time all the core players had their fun we had farmed so many shinies several people had living shiny pokedexes. You really missed out this gen was a fucking blast

It's insane. People are trying to get almost full price for their used copies even on ebay. $45 is the used price and who knows what condition it would come in. $50 has been Walmart's price for a new copy since launch. Not sure when Amazon went to $50 but that's the new copy price now. Walmart had the Expansion Pass physical bundle for $80 when it came out, but my local store doesn't carry that version anymore, just the base game for $50. I guess they only carried it for the holidays.

What I've learned from this is that I might as well buy at launch because the price isn't dropping and then pick up the bundle version later if the DLC content seems worth it.
