>>47591442>as it is a psychologist's evaluation of large scale trends in Western capitalist cultureno. maslow specifically surveyed popular, powerful, famous figures (he literally called them the master race like how the fuck people do not see how fascistic this shit is) and academic elite. he did not survey the actually mentally ill. of course he, or anyone who does anything similar, would place class on the bottom of a totem pole when you just ignore mass human suffering and look at and glorify the successful people. i think we're pretty much on the same page though
>>47591503you're not understanding my post. yes, sure, Western capitalist society values things like sex and family in actuality. but in a vacuum these things do not matter and don't have real meaning or value. the hierarchy of needs, and similar propaganda reaffirms society's valuing of these concepts and directly ascribes less value to people who don't have the things on the upper rungs. another major criticism of the hierarchy is that cultures around the world largely don't follow it - like, consider the reason the halo effect can even be measured materially is that society allows it to propagate in ways that have definable consequences.
and unfortunately, i'm sorry to say, but the answer is not 'getting a counselor' when the counselor is also heavily influenced by larger cultural attitudes and often doesn't have any real way to help incels or similarly emotionally disadvantaged people.
your argument boils down to 'if society fucks me in the ass, i either submit to it or join it' the former which turns you into a NEET and the latter turns you into another sociopathic vampire like the politicians, corporations, and media conglomerates who run America. that's just not a healthy way of thinking bro
