Why hasn't pokemon's artstyle evolved like with other franchises?

Final Fantasy used to look JUST LIKE gen 1, and now the game has evolved completely, the visuals are breathtaking and the creatures are more detailed than ever.

I don’t like the way nu final fantasy looks, i like the cartoon styled stuff. Redesigning old Pokemon to fit a new artstyle seems dumb anyway

I played super early dragon warrior stuff back on gameboy, and looking at the likes of the recent games they look like overdesigned garbage.

Because, for the most part, Final Fantasy uses new creatures. Pokemon uses the same ones over and over again, so it can't change art style without having massive clashes. Imagine a Pikachu fighting this fucking thing.

DQ's artstyle only evolved with Toriyama's, and what do you know it all still looks distinctively similar, because it's still Toriyama's artstyle. The evolution is comparable to Pokemon's.

The reason Pokemon will never look as graphically good is because GF is incompetent.
