Azumarill was the MVP when it came to cynthia; tanked earthquake and dragon rush, survived on 6hp and was able to 2ko Garchomp with ice punch. This probably would have been easier if I didn't base my team choices on their shiny forms.

Finally did it. I like how, even if Tentacruel, Victreebel and Magneton kinda carried the team, the other tree had their chance to shine as well. Charmeleon helped with Lorelei's team, specially Jynx. Farfetch'd avoided Green's Alakazam's barriers with slash. And Beedrill was my only counter to his Exeggutor. The only thing that's left now is Mewtwo and catching some cerulean cave mons for my living dex. Also I'm thinking of doing that hack to get a legit gamefreak event mew.

Yeah, Garchomp was my one exception in terms of picking good shiny forms. The Gible community day in Pokemon GO has made me appreciate it slightly more, but it's still an underwhelming shiny. I added it to the team partly because i couldn't get a shiny Bronzong and because I needed some extra type coverage.

Heart Gold team. I missed used my bro swampert so I transferred a mudkip from my old emerald. Furret did way more damage than I ever expected, I'm pretty happy with this run. Right now I've finished winning all Kanto badges.

My kind of weird Platinum team. Didn't plan this, it's just who I ended up using as I went along. I find it quite a cool challenge having two poison types and two ice types.
On the other hand all of the team members apart from maybe Glalie and sometimes Gastrodon are total dogshit and die really easily. That's more interesting than keeping Staraptor and Torterra and one-shotting everything but it's also kind of frustrating sometimes. There's not much else in Sinnoh I feel very excited about using though. Overall 5/10, looking forward to ditching this and moving onto Black.

First time playing Platinum; played Diamond many years ago.
Was going to use rotom-heat but didn't feel right forcing in event stuff.
I was also tempted to do a flying/levitate-mon only, until the togepi from cynthia turned out shit (Brave nature, Hustle ability)

Actually pretty well. This guy is probably my new favorite early-game bug. Bug/Psychic is a neat typing and this dude gets Bug Buzz and Psychic both reasonably early + useful coverage moves like Energy Ball and Shadow Ball. Dottler is very bulky and surprisingly useful for early-game. I admit that in the later parts of the game I've been using Orbeetle less but it did get two KOs against Leon (Aegislash and Rhyperior) so it's still useful and keeps acting as my Grass-type.

This seems to be a recurring theme in Gen IV due to bad Pokemon variety. At least you have a bit more originality than the average /vp/oreon since the typical HGSS team around here seems to be:

Anyway, to answer your question.

Your team has three (3) Pokemon that are weak to Ground and I'm not a big fan of your matchup against Lance. An Ice-type would fix both of these issues. Maybe add Jynx into your team as a late-game member? Alternatively if you don't like Jynx you could replace Quagsire with Lapras. This way you'd get an Ice-type and still keep the Water immunity with Water Absorb. In this instance you'd still have one free slot for something like Heracross which is useful for dealing with a couple of annoying bulky enemies (Karen's Umbreon and Red's Snorlax) while also giving you a Ground resist.
>tl;dr Jynx OR replace Quagsire with Lapras and add Heracross

Awesome image. Lanturn is really underrated its a great design and great in game.

My team. Just left solaceon town heading to veilstone next. Buneary will probably never evolve I let it faint too many times. I have a male kirlia in the p.c. to take its place. I'll evolve it into gallade when I get the dawn stone in pastoria. Ive used garchomp before but im going to try to selectively train this one for maximum bulk and give it all the hp ups and iron/zincs I find. I'm also going to attempt to use a blissey in game for the first time.

Trying a BW run with Pokemon I mostly haven't used before, outside of Serp who I always use, and Audino who I haven't used since I emulated the Japanese version of BW when it first came out like a decade ago.
I've never used a dragon ingame before, these things are fucking strong. Pretty much everyone on my team is great, I love Gen 5.

Both hunted, chikorita SR and furret RE. As soon as I had access to the love Ball I went back and hunted for a sentret. Luckily it appeared in less of an hour, one of my quickest hunts for sure.

It's decently challenging, comparable to drayano's hacks. First gym feels like the hardest since his Pokemon have 200 EVs in defense and hp and hit pretty hard compared to what you have at similar level.

If you play Crystal on VC you'll have access to both the Odd Egg and the GS Ball for Celebi. That would be my suggestion. As for the rest of your team, it's kind of hard to plan when the only one currently on the team is Meganium. But you should use Quagsire because it's cool

Most of these are subpar but the only ones I'd call shitmons are Ledian and Corsola. Sunflora and Wobbuffet are both serviceable. Replace them with REAL shitmons like Smeragle and Delibird.

Hunted. I had picked up the game right when armor came out and running around there I found Pikachu spawns and just kept encountering them for giggles for a few hours.

It's a shiny badge quest, must acquire one shiny before each gym, with optional shinies for important battles (i.e. E4 and Red), so I'm getting 18 total. I started November 1, 2020, but I took a couple months hiatus here and there. I plan on getting Dugtrio for Lt. Surge, Houndoom for Erika, Porygon 2 for Sabrina, and Zapdos for Red. Haven't decided on the Marsh, Volcano or Earth badge shinies yet

It's pretty good, Gym leaders are challenging, so was Hop's fight after the Grass Gym fight (fuck his sheep, what a tough faggy poke), and the mod has similar changes to Drayano hacks when it comes to pokemon edits, Farfetch'd having 120 Aattack and Speed, Electivire also being Electric/Fighting, as someone who enjoyed Blaze Black, Nova Sun, Volt White I feel right at home, I can't play those games without those mods desu, it's my first playthrough of SS

I just got to the Cianwood in Silver. Levels are 24, 24, 27, 21 respectfully. Yeah I found Emerald EX Speedchoice on github but that just looks like vanilla Emerald tweaked for speedrunners. Maybe there's a private gen 8 mod getting passed around discord or something

Unless you're playing a romhack you won't be getting Misdreavus until Mt. Silver, so you'll only be using her for the Red fight. Octillery is only available on Route 44 during a swarm on Gold/Silver, he's not in Crystal. Phanpy is only available at end of Johto so it'll start off pretty weak and won't be much use in the Clair fight I bet.

Just got around to moving my pokemon from the bank app to the home app (fucking hate that gamefrick charges you, but whatever)
Here are my teams from my past runs.

The gen3 team isn't from ORAS, I actually managed to get them all the way from emerald.
And the last spot is a combination of two different teams that for some reason I didn't end up transferring over fully.

I've just started the run, playing Crystal Clear so it's open world. My first time playing CC so I still don't know how long it'll take to get the full team, but at least I know I can make a beeline for the relevant areas.
