>>47602728this. I remember being genuinely excited for the switch Pokemon game before Shit and Shart were revealed because I assumed it would look similar to LGPE. Aside from the blocky layout of Kanto and the lack of quality animations, The art style and world looked and felt like a new Pokemon game should look. Simple, bright and colourful, not revealing too much but also not afraid of new camera angles like the rest of the series. It was fresh.
Instead we got SwSh, where Gamefreak reused the concept of SM's linear nature walkways but with even less to explore, and far worse graphics that failed both the look of the environments and the art style in general. Not to mention the wild area, one of the most disappointing trash-heap of a gimmick ever seen in a pokemon game. Good concept, horrible execution. Unfortunately, it looks like Arceus legends is basically one big wild area with botw-tier graphic quality.
In congruence with my opinion on LGPE despite not playing/liking the changes gameplay and mechanic wise, I am excited for BDSP and its simplistic artstyle. It is flawed, definitely; modern phone games look better generally, but imo DP are some of the best in the series and it will be hard to fuck up a remake. Inshallah they add Platinum's dex and Mega evos.
