/vp/ uses the "r-rushed" meme because they can't comprehend Game Freak envisioning this shit as-intended with Switch.
Overworld pokémon were added late in development, as GF saw the positive reaction to them from LGPE, but the Wild Area and its features were planned from the outset. Contrary to popular belief, Game Freak were always intending to go this direction, when the console they were developing for would allow them to and still run the game produced. That's why IoA/CT expanded on what WA had done and why they abandoned the remake in favour of another game to build 3D world development experience instead. No-one looks at what they do as a studio, just what they produce each year.
