What's the issue here? Every time I replay HGSS I always have an entire team of Johto Pokemon. Plus a lot of Post-game exclusive Pokemon in GS are found in the Safari Zone in HGSS. I'm pretty sure Pokemon like Houndour, Larvitar and Misdreavus are all obtainable there right after Chuck.

New to Unova. You can't get non-unova pokemon in BW until the post-game, then the dex is expanded from 150 to 300
If we're going with the "there are no generations, just pokemon" idea, BW2 added more to Unova than GS did to Kanto

Forgot to add "if we're maintaining consistent standards" GS are new generation games, BW2 are not. Therefore, GS should be compared to BW1, which added 150 pokemon.

You were the one who wanted consistent standards. GS added 100 pokemon, BW added 150, Crystal added 0, BW2 added 0. Those are consistent standards comparing games that serve the same purpose within their generations.

Modern games throwing pokemon at you is soulless, I like to have rare and legendary pokemon harder to find. You can more than half the pokedex in swooshie and it eliminates any challenge or reason to want to play the game. Its as close to the twilight zone's casino where you always win being hell as you can get in a game.

You can have rare pokemon without the entire dex being nearly useless. The mistake is in assuming one has to lead to the other when that only really happens in Johto. Just look at basically any other pseudo compared to Tyranitar, or rare mons in Alola or Hoenn compared to Johto's. No set is perfect, but most have many more usable pokemon than Johto
