Some kids are kinda gamers and know some more of them, or probably played stuff like HGSS/Plat/etc. And every so often I get a hardcore Pokemon fan who knows everything. I had a kid like that a few years ago who wore just a different Pokemon shirt every day. The number of kids that are hardcore Pokemon fans is always very low, but a decent amount of them have played the older stuff like emerald, plat, hgss, etc. That always surprises me. I've also brought my game to class before and traded with students, and I love kicking their asses on showdown (usually).
