>>47624102Drayano's ROMhacks are fucking great, but I do have at least two big criticisms. The first is that the first few Gyms tend to be massive slogs, because the Gym Leader will have access to full teams decked out with incredible move sets that the player can't hope to match at that point in the game. When balancing a hack, I think it's important to maintain at least somewhat of a sense of parity between what the bosses use and what the player has access to, barring maybe one "special trick" like a signature TM move.
The second is that the sense of progression tends to be a bit fucked. When the level curve is so steep, you wind up with your team pretty much fully evolved by the time you get to the fourth Gym. This is more of an autistic nitpick, but I think that a big part of the fun of Pokemon is in seeing your team grow and develop over the course of your adventure. I personally don't like to see my team really take its final shape until I'm on my way to the seventh Gym or so. I remember playing through his Platinum hack a while ago (not the most recent version, to be fair) and realized that I basically had my full team, completely evolved, by the time I entered Crasher Wake's Gym.
Like I said, though, these are ultimately minor complaints, and Drayano definitely puts out some of the best fan content of anyone in the Pokemon fanbase.
