>>47626875This, "modern" is way too broad of a term, people use it for everything from e-reader to stuff still in print. The layout you posted for standard cards is the cleanest the design has ever been, but it's still going to come down to personal taste.
For me it's gen 1 WOTC > actual modern > gen 2 WOTC > ex era (no reader strip) > ex era (reader strip)
I don't want to break down a full tier list for every card layout, but generally the less cluttered the design the better. It's a shame though, because some of my favorite cards are from early e-series with the two strips and irregularly shaped art window, which is one of the worst designs imo.
