The fact we're still dicking around on Gen 3, FireRed especially, pains me to no end because hardly anyone can make a finished hack that isn't "Kanto but bloated with all Pokemon, Moves, Abilities, Items, etc. up to the current gen and Tryhard-tier Difficult" and aside from Crystal, there's zero interest in development for other gens despite having far more potential without pushing both the ROM and emulator to their absolute limits.

I like how Pokemon Throwback (improvement hack of FireRed) handles this. Trademons still evolve via trading, but you can use Bill's teleporter to simulate trading with yourself and evolve them that way. Pretty neat.

That is pathetic. You don't need to metagame in a singleplayer game against retarded AI when they're barely stronger than you.
I've played a number of difficulty hacks and only a few of them were minmax metagaming throughout, while the easier ones had their moments of bullshit. Even then, at those points there was usually a pokemon nearby available for capture that could've been used to nullify it.
