As someone who's favorite gen is 5, I couldn't agree more. I loved it in the moment, but looking back after playing BW1 the story was too ham-fisted and wasn't fully resolved.

I have the opposite. I wasn't as big a fan of gen 5 as gen 4 when it first came out but after the last month of a shitposter making a dozen gen 5 threads a day and derailing every other thread on the catalog, I've paid more attention to BW2 and actually spent more time looking into the changes it introduced and now I like them the most out of the pokemon games before the 3ds/switch era killed the franchise.
