>>47635717Arceus has a weird relationship with eggs, since it's stated that Arceus itself emerged from an egg where there was nothing and then shaped the universe. No word on where the egg that produced Arceus even came from or how long it was floating about in an empty void. There's also two things worth pointing out about the Sinjoh egg:
1. It was not produced by any process remotely close to sex as we understand it in our world
2. It is the only time we've actually seen an egg produced on-screen
If that egg is in any way typical of eggs in the Pokemon world
and I sincerely doubt that it is, to be clear then I understand how the daycare workers could see Pokemon make an egg right in front of their eyes and still not understand where it came from.
Personally, my view is that Pokemon take so many bullshit magical departures from science to make their universe work in the first place, it doesn't matter if their reproduction is yet another bullshit magical departure from science. It's really stupid to accept that a living, breathing monster can move in and out of computer storage and summon a giant fucking tidal wave out of nowhere 15 to 24 times before needing to rest, but then insist that the only way it can make more of itself is through sexual reproduction. Especially when there are the absolute affronts to biology that are the Mineral, Amorphous, and Water 3 egg groups.
