It makes sense that there would be a type that adapted to become fully immune to Psychic powers, otherwise Psychic predatory Pokemon would literally overrun the ecosystem because they can not only track other mons much better, but also read their minds and teleport.

It just doesn't make sense compared to the other type immunities though

>Ghost is immune to Normal and Fighting because they can turn themselves intangible (Foresight and Odor Sleuth counter this by detecting when they're tangible and striking then)
>Flying is immune to Ground because they're in the air, their immunity is gone when they're touching the ground (Smack Down, and Gravity)
>Fairy is immune to Dragon because of the magic "armor of light" that surrounds their bodies

Dark has no sensible justification for being immune to Psychic.

Yup. And the next step in the evolutionary arms race is Wonder Eye, which allows Psychic types to hit Dark mons, but is still relatively rare. And Taunt is a Dark move and counters it.

That Fairy justification is flimsy as fuck as well though. Anti-psychics are a common trope in fiction and my headcanon is that Dark type minds just don't register to Psychic types which is why they can't target them. It's not like they're magically immune, they just don't register to Psychics (which is why Wonder Eye allows them to be hit).

Well yes, but no. If Psychic type Pokemon need their psychic senses to "get a grip" on something before being able to use their telekinesis, then Dark type immunity would be the logical consequence.
I mean I know this is arbitrary post-facto justification, but really that's the best you're going to get. We have the facts and if we're autistic enough to want worldbuilding we'll have to make sense of it ourselves because GF sure as hell isn't going to do the work for us.

The pressurized water thing is stupid since it's usually the stuff added to the water like sand or diamonds that cut it not the water. Water only manages to scrape the surface but you could say the same for other types that aren't super effective. I think the part about sinking makes more sense since rock types probably wouldnt be able to handle maneuvering around being flooded
