My theory is that shills are being paid to shit on Johto to make people dislike it, so then GAME FREAK won't have to make a Johto remake because they'd have to make two Regions, and this is simply too much work for them. I think Gen 2 is one of GAME FREAK's biggest regrets because it was the game they poured the most amount of love and effort into, and to revisit it would require them to return to that old mindset of "passion before business", which Tsunekazu Ishihara doesn't like. Someone needs to unironically kill Ishihara in Minecraft because he has, since his rise to power, been destroying the Pokémon franchise from the inside and killing off any passion GAME FREAK had. It will soon come to a point where the damage is too much and the effects are irreversible.
