Out of this list, Pokémon Challenges, HoodlumCallum, and NumbNexus are the most active in the slander campaign, making entire videos on why Johto is bad. A lot of these videos contain straight up misinformation and a lot of it is opinion-based. Joseph Merrick and SacredAlmighty are a little more low-key on the Johto slander, but they have both expressed heavy dislike for Johto several times.
Now, notice how this hate seemingly came out of nowhere, right? It started somewhere around last year, with Pokémon Challenge's video on why Gen 2 is the worst. After that, Johto went from the generally-agreed "peak of the franchise" (whether it be in the form of GSC or HGSS), to the "objective worst Generation". I will admit that some of the complaints are fair, but they are WAY over exaggerated it's not even funny, and some of the arguments against it, like I said, are either literal straight up lies, or problems with the franchise as a whole. The sad part is that it's working and the masses are falling to these lies and spreading it further. I fear it's already too late. Pokémon Challenges even went as far to gaslight his followers into believing the Johto Gym Leaders don't use any Kanto Pokémon, and what do you know, it fucking worked. And he played it off as a joke afterwards, but did nothing to stop the spread of these lies. (1/3)
