Do you like the fictional animal/pet dynamic Pokémon has?
Let’s be real. That’s the dynamic they’re aiming for. Waifufags may be adamant against it because they imagine their waifu to be much more human than it really is and not a beast but this is a franchise that doesn’t give a fuck and presents gardevoir as being as much of an animal/pet as a pidgey.
With that said if you’re not someone with bias it becomes clear. Hence why most people tend to think of Pokémon as fictional animals and it’s an image promoted by the franchise.
With that said because of that there’s limitation on what the Pokémon can do. Like the Pokémon company being adamant that Pokémon don’t wear clothes as part of their base design like Sawk gi not being clothing but an organic part of his body. They also limit the speaking role of the Pokémon only being limited to legendaries and Meowth in the anime since they’re the very few recurring talking Pokémon everyone else doesn’t talk unless it’s done for the plot or they’re a special case like the talking Lucario from the 8th movie. They also don’t behave very human like aside from the basic cartoon animal stuff and even less human in some cases because there’s plenty of toons with talking animals.
