There is also a fuckton of knightmons that pokemon is now moving into as well. Anything without guns and not fully humanoid though, is basically fine. Those ghosts in season 1 of digimon are basically already pokemon.
Imagine if ashe started with gatomon and there were all those scenes of them sharing a sleeping bag, haha. That would be so wierd.
