I'm a Animation student and I want to binge on Pokemon movies for inspiration before I go back to my studies in September.

Out of all the Pokemon movies listed, which are worthwhile to watch?

havent seen the last few but the only ones really not worth watching are the diance hoopa and volcanion movies (kalos trilogy)
they can still be worth watching if youre looking for inspiration to make garbage

first three are good, pokemon heroes latios and latias is very good and also has some very good aesthetics, lucario and mystery of mew is also good. The new movies are considerably worse

Pokemania died due to them basically putting trash batteries in GSC and then they put the final nail in the coffin by making your pokemon untransferable from gen 2 to 3.

Yes that is exactly what I'm meaning. Maybe the better way to say it is "Pokemania was dead by the time Heroes was released" Heroes is the first one I actually remember not really getting a theater release and if there was I don't think the following was huge

If you’re going to watch movies 10-12, watch them all at once, as they make a trilogy.

Don’t watch Hoopashit, and stick to the original Mewtwo movie. After that it’s all preference.

How are 10-12 a trilogy? There's no reason to watch them together as opposed to not watching other films in the same series together.

Last one I watched as a kid was Destiny Deoxys and that last one I watched recently was Evolution which was awful

The movies are all connected.
Arceus wakes up. The sheer energy makes Dialga think Palkia entered it’s territory and vice versa. Dialga and Palkia fight with each other, nearly erasing every living thing in a town in the process until Darkrai and the gang intervene.

This causes the Distortion World to go Toxic, and Giratina to resent the other two.

Arceus is pissed for unrelated reasons and wants to kill humanity. The three others get their shit together and team up to stop it, while Dialga sends the gang back in time.

I love the animation in all of these. Watch them in Japanese so you don't have to endure the terrible plot and dialog.
