There is not much story when it comes to pokemon. You simply get one of 3 starters from your professor, defeat all 8 gyms, defeat the evil team, and become champion. However since there is much more to it than that lorewise. (Like how Arceus created the world, and made all life, etc.) Fans have tried making edgy fanfictions, and ideas to add to the lore like some kid's father dying. To that I say THAT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA!!
Here is why, first off, you're essentially trying to give the pokemon series, and the franchise itself the same fatal flaw the Sonic series had where they beloved kids characters, and get them involved/make them do edgy shit, turning the beloved classic cast, and characters into blood thirsty animals of destruction. If you're planning to request edgy shit being added to the pokemon franchise, than make a different series for it like the Mega man franchise did. Capcom, and Inafune didn't want the classic cast to be involved in bloody, and edgy shit, so instead they made a whole different cast, and series for all of the edgy and bloody stuff, hence megaman X.
So instead of trying to request, and add in this edgy shit to the classic series like the Sonic the hedgehog franchise did, instead add that stuff to whole different series, and cast like the Megaman franchise.
That would be a better solution if we were to add edgyness to a franchise like pokemon.
