Is it really P2W? I honestly don't think it is, I'm destroying people with items only maxed out at 10 (no money spent), just get better at the game/practice if you feel like you want to spend

The difference between level 10 and 20 items is marginal enough that it would only really matter if you're playing against people of equal skill, and only very rarely make a significant difference.

I'm not speaking for Pokemon Unite, but there absolutely are pay to win games where everything is theoretically free. A game I used to play called Maple Story is one of the worst offenders out there when it comes to paid players reaching levels that free players just can't. In theory, you could get everything in that game for free. In practice, the heavy RNG involved in upgrading items made the odds of getting a perfect item so astronomically low that there was no realistic way to do it without throwing money at paid items.
