Except SW didnt sold that well and it was heavily criticized by both media and critics.

The only game that got heat at the start was SS because of Dexcut, but DLC was a huge success which made most people forgive the game, and LGPE were huge hits, despite being very different than mainline games.

And while Sinnoh remakes have already a public of haters because >Chibi we both knows its a loud minority that will buy anyways.

So since you already stated "selling well" is the only thing that matters and backlash doesn't matter as long as the consumers keep buying products, it seems silly to consider Disney Star Wars "ruined" while Pokemon isn't.

Just the budget alone + how much Disney paid to get SW license I would be surprised if they did break even.

Also comparing LGPE to BW is a disingenuous argument.
BW is mainline and is expected to sell extremely high numbers, LGPE is a spin-off remake of Yellow who had a way lesser budget and target sales in mind, it actually sold way more than what was expected outta it.

Well just know that you're incorrect. If you can provide a source that proves me wrong, I would be happy to see it though. Besides, you're shifting the goal post a little bit. It wasn't "the studio has to make back enough to cover their total costs" it was, "the product has to sell like hot cakes"

And considering even the lowest selling Star Wars mainline film grossed over 1 Billion, that's selling like hot cakes.

And it's not disingenuous at all if sales are all that matter. As you said, a franchise can't be run into the ground as long as it's games/movies are selling well.
