Don't hate Gamefreak because of simplistic artstyle of modern pokemon. Blame modern anime aesthetics. Gamefreak are just adapting to current trends.

this kind of feels like cherrypicking, but would generally agree

in simple terms I think the best way to describe it is that old anime looks more like proper art, whereas new anime is more broadly appealing to the eye and better in motion

Not him but way more people would be inclined to say that the originals look better than their redesigns, especially off of this site. Its not really contrarian to share a popular opinion
