Preliminary conclusions:
The uptick of shitposting and genwar threads in the past two months is not a coincidence. This discord and its members have been responsible for a large portion of it. But, they aren't responsible for all of it. Particularly, it would appear that, according to one member as seen in
>>47717987, they don't know who's making Gen 2 genwar threads, but this may not be a smoking gun due to the nature of Discord and raids, as will be explained later in this post. As posted prior, this thread:
https://archive.nyafuu.org/vp/thread/47654212/#47654212 has a good argument for why Gen 2 hate threads may also be started by a coordinated group, but it's nothing as definitive as this.
Notably, it seems that yawnfag, the notorious genwarring troll who has been shitposting for far longer than two months, is absent from this discord. I believe this for a few reasons. One, the members of this discord have talked about yawnfag like he's not one of them. Two, several of them express opinions very counter to what yawnfag has posted in the past. And three, as far as I can see, no one has claimed to be responsible for the most obvious types of posts yawnfag is known to make. However, I will say that if yawnfag is in a thread, he does seem to gain suspicious supporters at times, so that may be mostly the work of this discord group. But I can't say that with absolute certainty.
Now, note that discord raids aren't always very coordinated, and raids may not always be coordinated inside a discord group, but in PMs. Most often, especially on a smaller board like this, these people simply group up together and agree to look for what they think are each other's threads and posts and support them wherever possible. You can see some of that behavior in the archived Discord logs. This may mean that thread raids are being conducted by the same people, but through other means beyond what we're seeing.
tl;dr discord behind many genwars, not all, yawnfag still at large
