>>47718512Gen 1 was a buggy mess that didn't even work as intended, the sprites in RB were ugly as shit and Yellow was only servicable at best with most of the same issues as Gen 1 but worse because you have to use fucking pikiachu as your starter.
Gen 2 was great and basically a step up from gen 1 in every possible way, but still had issues in hindsight.
Gen 3 was still the awkward puberty of the franchise where all the changes were half-measures that got shored up in gen 4, and fuck hoenn, too much fucking water and too many HMs. That said, FRLG were a huge step up from RBY in every possible way and LGPE is just that but better because it knows how to have fun, something that pokemon seems to have forgotten because MUH SMOGON MUH COMPETITIVE MUH META.
Gen 5 tries too hard to be a serious game with a """deep""" story that shits the bed at the last minute because LOL JK GHETSIS IS A GENERIC ROCKET-TIER BAD GUY TEAM PLASMA WERE NEVER MORALLY GRAY AND N'S QUEST MEANS NOTHING!
gen 6 felt like gen 1 but without any of the gamebreaking bugs or terrible balance choices so it's better by default even if the postgame is nonexistent. Megas are a fun gimmick, fuck you joyless losers for saying otherwise.
Gen 7 I haven't finished because it forces you through a 20 minute tutorial and fuck that.
Haven't played Gen 8 cause I'm a poorfag and heard it bricks your switch, but from what I've seen it at least had some good ideas such as co-op raids.
Loved gen 4 despite the fact it ran like shit on the DS, HGSS are the best games in the franchise because they're just Gen 2 but with the superior Gen 4 mechanics.
Also, if you doubt my legitimacy, I went to an event at a local mall where they handed out mews. Got myself a legit one, with a certificate and everything. I still have a badge from a tournament I participated in there, little cardboard disk with the water badge on it. Can take a picture if you want.
