He peaked as a composer in gens 2-3, and even then Go Ichinose's compositions were just as good, if not better. Ultimately Pokemon was Tajiri's vision, and it doesn't matter who you are, you can never fully understand and replicate somebody else's vision.

That will never be true, no matter how often you say it. Even the Switch bump was only 5 million, not 24 mill, like Animal Crossing. And given they had consistent 16.5m average New Gen paired title sales from Gen III to VII, it pretty much confirms the kids still drive the franchise. The normies never gave a fuck about it in-depth like kids or us do.

Now of course Ohmori is much much worse, with his constant handholding and cutscenes + waifu pandering.

However I wish Tajiri would give us one more game.
