i held off from buying when it was released until now, and i was thinking of getting a used copy myself.

Its okay

Its not a step up and its not anything more than the next pokemon game

Cutting pokemon from appearing got everyone pissed off, since that was one of the big things people would forgive pokemons faults for having.

It's fine. The DLCs lift it from a mediocre game that gives you a lot of potential to make your own fun to a pretty decent experience.

The game is not good imo. It has good QoL and the DLCs do help, but it definitely feels bland, underdeveloped, and rushed.

The core Pokemon gameplay is still there, even with EXP Share fuckery, so there was still fun, but retaining the formula isn't exactly commendable.

It's still worth a try, if you end up liking it great, if you end up hating it, you'll be able to truly understand why

Complete shit. DLC do not resolve any of the issues of the base game. If you have to try it, used is fine. Pirated is better.
