It's a flat-remake, done by a who studio under contract to Game Freak, while Game Freak work on Legends.
It's the result of hoennbabs telling Game Freak remakes are easy money, while also being shafted by having Game Freak have an entirely different set of goals with what they aim to be their final Gen VIII effort.

Calling it now, they will only add the minimal things from platinum like singular npcs on routes, the pokedex will be the one from DP, the postgame will be shorter than DP, and the pokeradar will be completely absent cutting every single pokemon obtainable from it.
