Maybe not Gen 3 or 4, but Gen 1 definitely does lmao and so does Gen 5 and 6, and Gen 8 to some extent. The only games with good NPC battles are Emerald, Diamond & Pearl, Sun & Moon and Ultra Sun & Moon.
