Anyways today I figured out that the Regis aren’t affected by the shiny charm. Currently at 4,600 Regirock.

I got a Shiny Cobalion in Sword after about 4 combined hours of camp resets, now I'm on Terrakion

Was IV breeding (gen 6) and got a shiny trapinch and 2 shiny sevipers only within a couple of boxes. Thing is their natures suck. If I ever buy future games, I might bring em forward so I can change the nature and improve the ivs with like bottle caps or wtv (havent played those games yet)

I'm doing a regular playthrough of Heartgold right now, and somehow by sheer dumb luck i got the Pokerus, a shiny Bellsprout and a shiny Oddish, and I'm just at Goldenrod City.
RNGsus is truly with me on this one.

Rhe regis are classed as sratic encounters and static encounters aren't affected by the shiny charm's reduction, just like in Gen VII, where the wormhole pokémon got the SC boost but Type: Null and Poipole were 1/4000

dude I got the same dumb luck, except instead of a bellsprout and oddish I got a raticate and gastly (now gengar) and I was doing a nuzlocke instead of a regular playthrough. pokerus happened just before I dropped the game due to burnout (I got sick of the franchise after playing it and only it for almost 2 years straight now)

That's how they intended the 500ko boost to work and furthermore, there is no chaining mechanic involving shinies, the only chain mechanic is tied to consecutive fishing boosting the chance of a brilliant aura encounter.
I understand not knowing at launch, but it's almost been 2 years at this stage.

Yeah, my first shiny was a Sneasel in X/Y
The only other one I've ever gotten was a Braixen in a randomizer run, so I couldn't transfer it over

A Shiny's appearance never bothers me.
What has upset me with Shiny hunting is getting a Shiny of something I already have instead of the target I was hunting for, an example of this is hunting for a Shiny Alolan Geodude and got multiple Shinies of virtually every Pokemon on that route except for Shiny Alolan Geodude.
Another thing that bothers me a lot with Shiny hunting as well is finally getting a Shiny of something you want, only to have the game ruin it in some way for you, like wrong Nature or Ability.

My last shiny was a Zekrom from Adventures. It’s pretty nice for hunting legendaries but it’s too unreliable if you want one of the normal mons.
