It's been eh since around gen 3 but now that games are getting better and more impressive and Pokemon games are getting worse, it's more noticeable. But it's Pokemon so its still gets attention

The sign is a subtle joke. The shop is called "Sneed's Feed & Seed", where feed and seed both end in the sound "-eed", thus rhyming with the name of the owner, Sneed. The sign says that the shop was "Formerly Chuck's", implying that the two words beginning with "F" and "S" would have ended with "-uck", rhyming with "Chuck". So, when Chuck owned the shop, it would have been called "Chuck's Fuck and Suck".

Why add content when people these days just want an on-rails tour they can mash the A button through so they can get that sweet sweet dopamine rush for two seconds that enables them to say they "completed" a Pokemon game? Pokemon's non-linear elements have been gone since Gen 3 leaving only the exploration and sidemodes to carry the games since, and with those going out of the window since Sun and Moon Pokemon might as well not even be called Pokemon anymore.
Gen 7 and 8 may as well be spin-offs, they play too differently. Sure, the Pokemon themselves are mostly there and the battle mechanics are intact; but the presence of those as well as the National Dex and branching paths are what differentiated the main-series from the side series like Colosseum. The current formula worked fine for a spin-off on the Gamecube, but trying to pass it off as a main-series thing is probably one of GameFreak's most retarded decisions.
