>>47745392>You can walk around them anon. What if they're in a narrow area? What if they're agressive?
>They're less intrusive than random encounters because I don't need to constantly go in by back to use repels like a retard Have you played a Pokemon game after HGSS? Or, to use Bravely Default as an example again, they could put it in a menu, but I know Game Freak is apparently terrified of putting options in a menu.
>and I don't have to go through encounters I don't want when I'm trying to find pokemon.Isn't there a spawn limit that causes this probelm anyway? I'm pretty sure it doesn't reset the overworld Pokemon when you go into a battle, last I checked, so this will become a bigger problem, but at least a Pokemon sniping you won't prevent you from getting the Pokemon you want. Overworld encounters could theoretically fix this if it were, you know, an actual system, but as it stands Dex Nav does a better job. I dunno how they'll expand on it in future games though, so you are correct that it might be better long term. As it stands though, it's pretty half baked and doesn't really give you any advantages while making a game that is typically not action orientated more action orientated, which seems like a bad idea.
