I can't pick in gen 1, so it doesn't matter.
I usually still pick male in gen 2, but at the same time, I also usually end up just playing Gold version because that's what I grew up with, so it's not really a choice. If I do fire up Crystal, I'll play as Kris.
In gen 3, I've been picking May more lately, but most of my runs have been Brendan.
In gen 4, I played with Lucas my first run, then Dawn every other time.
Gen 5, I usually picked Hilbert in BW1 and only sometimes I'd pick Hilda.
I always pick the guy in BW2 due to the thing with Yancy. Rosa is super cute, but eh.
Nate is cute too.From gen 6 onwards, I picked the girl because actual clothing options, and holy shit I never looked back.
