>>47762012Bigger Crown Tundra. You come to this new place and go discovering the legends of the sinnoh region, definitely under the watch of a professor or naturist or whatever. Unlike Crown Tundra the story is more linear and some battles are involved but the structure is the same - they don't know how to use an open world so basically everything is either a fetch quest or 'find x pokémon and come back', just like Crown Tundra.
Small towns or settlements apart from the big base, but they're all as uncharacteristic and not charming as the only town in the Crown Tundra. Probably some improvement in map design, but not much. Doubt you'll have a rival, but there'll probably be some underlying story involving Arceus and some fucker or fuckers who want its power, which is the climax of the game.
My biggest fear? The open world. This is supposed to be the 'Breath of the Wild' for Pokémon. But the people in charge of Zelda took their sweet time and knew what an open world meant - you can practically do anything within the limits of the game. Wanna go from A to B? Cool. You can take the short path, or go all the way round, or fuck that and you go do something else. Can Game Freak really do that without fucking up? We'll have to see. These were the people who design games with HMs as blockades, several tutorials within the game, and with the latest ones, handholding. Will they adapt those into Crown Tundra? Will they remove them altogether? Nailing something like that is going to be hard.
My prediction? A 2010ish conception of the open world. Not terrible, has some promise but lacked time, short story but it's open world so who cares, yadda yadda, 6/10
It's all speculation, but come on. Pokémon games are insanely obvious
