Literally anything can beat generations 1 and 2 in a solo run when overleveled to 100 and boosted with x items.
That's why the first ones of these 'Can I beat red/blue with X pokemon' videos were stupid. They'd grind to 100, drain their PP so they have struggle - a 100% accuracy 50 base power move - and proceed to sweep everything in the game.
That's when Ditto and Magickarp runs were the most popular. Then people got tired of seeing everyone struggle everything and boost to +6, so the 'content creators' started just leveling to 100 and one shotting everything with whatever.
It gets boring. It gets repetitive. It gets annoying, when it's literally the lowest hanging fruit available for these things.
Literally only takes one or two dozen hours to get a full video created and uploaded, and with current numbers they're guaranteed to get a few thousand from sponsored ads in the process.
