>>47764497Yeah it feels like GameFreak was weirdly trying to show people that they don't want edgy rivals by humiliating him in game and then giving him that pink fairy gym leader outfit to complement his androgynous look going for the "see you guys, edgy rivals are just hiding their soft and sensitive self on the inside" sort of statement.
What they don't get is that people just want a rival that doesn't act like a Disney employee.
